I am a 23-year-old living in Blacksburg, Virginia (Virginia Tech). I have been working with the web since I learned HTML in 7th grade and have been having a lot of fun with it ever since. I work for a local design and development company called New City Media as a PHP programmer and database developer. My work-load consists of mainly writing PHP code, designing database tables in MySQL 4/5 or MSSQL 2005, general tech support for our hosting, DNS, and database servers and also the occasional tech support call for a client.
My love is working on client applications that will improve, simplify, or ease their work flow. I could knock out news, events, and calendars all day but I would rather be spending my time writing a social networking, report-gathering, or work-process application. I enjoy writing clean code that is efficient above all else (except functional).
My favorite thing in the world to do is to white-water-raft doing any of the great rivers in the Appalachian Mountains and I hope to someday graduate to the real-deal in the Rockies. I am a huge sports nut and you can find me glued to my TV during the NFL season, and, to a lesser extent, MLB and College Football. My professional gaming contract is going to come in any day now as I love all RTS and FPS genre games.
